About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting a wide variety of pastries, desserts and baked goods with precision and consistency. You will work closely with the Head Chef and contribute to the development of new recipes, ensuring all pastry items meet the hotel’s high standards of quality and presentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods daily.
  2. Ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained.
  3. Assist in menu planning, costing and creating new dessert offerings.
  4. Manage mise en place and ensure efficient pastry section operations.
  5. Maintain inventory of baking supplies and place orders when necessary.
  6. Train and supervise junior staff in the pastry section.
  7. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and quality service.


Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Bakery or Pastry from a recognized institution.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie in a reputable hotel or bakery.
  3. Excellent knowledge of pastry techniques and baking processes.
  4. Creative mindset with attention to detail in presentation.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Good communication and teamwork skills.
