Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant Cashier to support the financial operations of a busy hotel in Thika. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth cash handling processes and inventory management within the establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the main cashier in handling daily cash and credit transactions.
- Accurately record all financial transactions in line with company policies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including receiving and issuing stock.
- Prepare daily financial reports and reconcile cash drawers.
- Liaise with suppliers and storekeepers to track stock usage and reorders.
- Support the finance department in audits and stocktakes.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashiering and inventory workspace.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any other business-related course.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Proven experience in inventory management and stock control.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel or hotel management systems is an added advantage.
