Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant Cashier to support the financial operations of a busy hotel in Thika. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth cash handling processes and inventory management within the establishment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the main cashier in handling daily cash and credit transactions.
  2. Accurately record all financial transactions in line with company policies.
  3. Monitor and manage inventory levels, including receiving and issuing stock.
  4. Prepare daily financial reports and reconcile cash drawers.
  5. Liaise with suppliers and storekeepers to track stock usage and reorders.
  6. Support the finance department in audits and stocktakes.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized cashiering and inventory workspace.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any other business-related course.
  2. Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  3. Proven experience in inventory management and stock control.
  4. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  5. High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Excel or hotel management systems is an added advantage.
