Job Description

Our client, a well-established and busy hotel located in Hurlingham, Nairobi, is seeking to recruit a Front Office Auditor to join their team. The ideal candidate will work the night shift and be responsible for overseeing front office operations, reconciling daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy of guest billing, and preparing comprehensive end-of-day reports. This is a critical role that ensures the smooth running of night operations and the financial integrity of the hotel’s front office.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform nightly audits of front office operations and reconcile guest folios.
  2. Generate and distribute accurate financial reports, including occupancy, revenue, and audit summaries.
  3. Ensure all charges are correctly posted to guest accounts, including room rates, food & beverage, and other hotel services.
  4. Handle late-night check-ins and check-outs professionally and efficiently.
  5. Address and resolve guest queries or concerns during the night shift.
  6. Monitor and secure all cash handling and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  7. Maintain proper records of all front office activities during the shift.
  8. Liaise with other departments (Housekeeping, Security, Maintenance) to ensure smooth hotel operations at night.
  9. Ensure the front desk area remains organized, secure, and presentable.


Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy hotel environment.
  3. Strong working knowledge of hotel management software (e.g., OPERA, IDS, or similar systems).
  4. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  6. Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
  8. High level of integrity and professionalism.
  9. Must be flexible, reliable, and able to work on weekends and public holidays.
